We are alone with no excuses. Man is free to write the script for his own life. He can blame no one else if his life is a poor performance.
Jean Paul Sartre
Are we free to make our own choices in life , or are our decisions always limited by the rules of society? Society no doubt plays a very important part in everyone’s life , where you grow up, to which religion you belong to, all play a major part in our lives. They have a big influence on us and we knowingly or unknowingly are influenced by it in big ways. Schooling and the social institutions do imprison a person’s mind and spirit and so does so many other things .Our society is build on beliefs left on by people. Mind is a very tricky thing you know, if you keep it dormant for sometime, you become complacent to the new ideas , innovations. Even if you want to believe in something, your mind will tell you otherwise. This is how our society is , they don’t want to accept anything new for they are afraid it might change the flow of their lives ,that it might effect the little things they are holding onto ,its like they don’t wanna open their eyes for they are afraid they might encounter something they have been running from. People will be the same no matter what place , they will always be people who try to oppose your thinking , your progress ….. will always try to bring you down and that’s the way the things are in this life. You will not get support if you want to try out something new or bring about a change.....believe me when I say never , sometimes you might meet like minded people but other wise the chances of you traveling on a smooth road are bleak , very bleak. We are traveling on a lonesome road. I do believe that if situations were a little bit favorable , people would dare to do more innovative stuff and live their lives freely without any restraints from the society. Instead of running from their lives people just need to be true to them selves and stop lying . Sometimes situations are so unfavorable that even when you want something very badly ,you cant proceed with it .Sometime conditions are very bad and might make you lead the kind of life you didn’t want to but had to because it was the need of the hour.
But in spite of all the obstacles we face or hurdles …”WE” have to jump over them , it is we who have the power who do it. No one else can do what we can because there is only one me and one you. It is me and you and no one else that lives our lives and it is we who decide what to do with it.No matter how many problems we have , or bad situations we get ourselves into we should still keep on going and even if we stop we cant give the excuses that my parents were not into it or the society didn’t accept it .People will always try to stop us , inhibit us from doing what we can do but we are not meant to accept defeat so easily . E.E. Cummings once wrote; To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing it's best, night and day, to make you everybody else, means to fight the hardest battle, which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting.
Life is supposed to be hard and what measures our time here is that after taking so many blows from the so called problems we are still able to move on and face it head on. I agree with Jean Paul Sartre that man is a free spirit and is responsible for his own defeats and wins and I know that society or the situations or the people aren’t always on our side but that shouldn’t stop us from being who we are because god made us free and we are meant to be that way no matter what comes. Ayn Rand once wrote . Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swaps of the not quite, the not yet, and the not at all ….Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists. It is real. It is possible. It is yours.
There is no better way to end this :
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeoning of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
- Invictus, William Ernest Henley

The post has a distinctive imprint of your outlook which seems to be emanating from the strong support you have for ayn rand's "self" ideology. The idealism is encouraging & pretty contagious too.I was endowed with a spirit of challenge after reading the post.kudos for that..
Now some fodder to fight for-Your post is filled with an allegory that illustrates that society & people are external agents which inhibit innovation, despise righteous forces & curb the revolutionary tendencies reticent in the minds of a true man having an original "self"(perhaps the opposite of ayn rand's second hander). But is this complete picture??
The man, his ideas, his ingenuity, his ideology, his skills are all a product of civilization & socialization.Isnt it?
what does a a child know when he is an infant?
his thoughts(whether right or wrong ), his tendencies or his prejudices, his truth or his lies, his self or his alter ego, his zeal or his conservativeness are all a product of what he chooses to accept from the pool of society & his social environment & what he wishes to disown. So, the concept of a man the hero, probably nietzsche's hero, is something that I find unpalatable. There are conflicts where in the certain people are obstinate & curb the innovation. But, that does not amount to the conclusion that society & mankind in general is regressive..Because whatever that is existing in the social domain is what precursors any innovation or thought."Self" thrives in society lest it has to fight numerous valorous battles with circumstances. You dont have to fight the inherently bad society or so, but the only retrogressive elements of this grand progressive entity called the society.(apologies if I sound too imbued with wishful thinking)
We shall debate this sometime.
I SHALL BELIEVE seems great to me.The hopefulness, the resolve is evident & is praiseworthy. The rendition of the theme seems harmonic & filled with spirit..keep it up!!
There will always be people who do not agree with you. There will always be people who think otherwise. That is because they have every right to. They are entitled to an opinion just like you are. The only difference is probably that they are a group of people who share the idea and you are an individual who does not conform to it. And its upto you to decide- Do you go with the flow or against it?
Btw nice post! Keep posting...
And like one of your friends said in the previous post..If therez a lesson u wanna teach, u better practice what u preach ;)
